To prevent infection with Mpox (monkey pox), the following is recommended:
- Avoid skin-to-skin contact with people with a rash (similar to Mpox)
- Avoid touching people with/suspected of Mpox
- Avoid touching objects and tools that have been used by people with/or with suspicion of Mpox: for example crockery, towels, clothes, bedding and the like.
- Wash your hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer - especially before eating, before touching your face and after using the toilet.
- An increased incidence of infection has previously been seen in people who have several sexual partners and in men who have sex with men. Therefore, in those cases, you should exercise particular caution.
